Snare Lab

Snare Lab ("the App") is developed and published by TrevBeats Multimedia ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user. By using Snare Lab, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

✓ Snare Lab does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information.

The App operates primarily on-device. The following describes all data activity:

Setup data and saved case slots — Your drum setups, genre selections, tuning targets, and Snare Case slot data are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Audio input — The App requests microphone access to perform live lug-by-lug pitch detection in the Tune tab. Audio is processed entirely on-device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Camera / Photo Library — The App requests camera or photo library access when you use the Identify feature to submit a photo for drum identification. Images are sent to a secure processing endpoint solely to perform identification. Images are not stored, logged, or used for any other purpose.
Drum sample audio — One-Shot Snare Collection samples are streamed from Firebase Storage. No user data is attached to these requests. Firebase may log standard server-side request metadata (IP address, timestamp) as part of its infrastructure operation. See Firebase Privacy.
Analytics — The App includes Firebase Analytics, which may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data such as session length and feature interaction. This data is not linked to your identity. You can opt out of analytics data collection through your device's system settings under Privacy → Apple Advertising.

2. How We Use Information

The limited data described above is used solely to:

Provide core App functionality (tuning, identification, mixing, case storage)
Deliver drum sample audio from our library
Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the App (anonymized analytics only)

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade any user data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Snare Lab uses the following third-party services which have their own privacy practices:

Firebase (Google LLC) — Used for drum sample storage and delivery, and anonymized analytics. Firebase Privacy Policy
Apple — The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple's standard platform privacy practices. Apple Privacy Policy

4. Microphone Access

Snare Lab requests microphone access exclusively for real-time pitch detection in the Tune tab. The App does not record audio, save audio files, or transmit audio data of any kind. You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Revoking access disables the Tune tab's pitch detection feature.

5. Camera and Photo Library Access

Snare Lab requests camera or photo library access when you use the Identify feature. Photos are submitted to an identification endpoint for the sole purpose of drum identification. Photos are not stored on our servers, not used for training, and not shared with any third party. You can revoke camera or photo access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera or Photos.

6. Children's Privacy

Snare Lab is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the address below and we will promptly address it.

7. Data Retention

All data stored by the App (your setups, Snare Case slots, preferences) lives entirely on your device. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. We do not retain any user data on our servers.

8. Your Rights

Because Snare Lab does not collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. All App data is on your device and under your control.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the Effective Date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
